Hello, lovely readers! We are happy to finally introduce ourselves to you. We are the creators of this blog dedicated to interior design. We thought it was only natural for us to tell you a little more about ourselves, so you know who’s writing the articles you’ll (hopefully) find exciting and interesting to read.
Take a look at this page to find out about us and why we decided to make this blog in the first place.
Who are We
Let’s start from the beginning. We are a group of friends who met while studying architecture and interior design at university. What brought us all together was a group project, in our second year of studies, that had us design “the school of the future”.
It was challenging to create a project that could one day be used to completely transform the way in which schools and other educational facilities are built and decorated. We confess that we had our shortcomings while working on this massive project, but in the end, we were proud of our achievement and the lessons it taught us.
This is what truly brought us together and we are happy to tell you that we are just as close as we were back then. It’s been a few years since we graduated and we all went our separate ways, some of us became architects, other interior designers, but one thing which didn’t change was our friendship.
Why We Made This Blog
We remained close friends and we visited each other frequently, but all this changed with the pandemic. We could no longer keep our tradition to go to our favourite pub every Friday and talk about our work and share ideas with each other. Zoom calls couldn’t quite recreate the original spirit and we were pretty bummed about it for the first few months.
However, we thought that instead of going out every day, we could do other activities that can bring us together. And yes, that’s how we came up with the idea to create this blog. To be fair, it’s not as strenuous as creating and presenting an architectural project for university, but it’s just as fun and it requires a certain degree of creativity as well.
Each one of us finds a topic they would like to explore, research it, and then write an article for the blog. Thus, it’s very similar to our pub discussions, but we actually put in some work this time!
Blog Style and Content
You don’t have to be an expert to talk or be interested in interior design. After all, we all turn into interior designers when we are tasked with finding new gems to decorate our homes. This is why we wanted to make our blog as accessible as possible to everyone since we all share this desire to make our homes more comfortable and beautiful.
We also don’t want to bore you to death by using the terms we had to in our academic works. School’s over, now it’s the time to have fun!
Regarding the content of this blog, we wanted to centre it around the latest developments in interior design such as new trends. However, this would not be the only type of content you can find on our page. After all, to talk about the present, you have to sometimes look to the past, so we will also discuss the historical design movement that protrude contemporary trends.
Thank You
